History of Esenyurt region

Esenyurt was founded in the beginning of the 19th century on the agricultural land belonging to Akram Omer Pasha, it was named Eşkinoz after Eşkinozgiller, one of the shareholders of this place. In 1967, the area was named Eşkinoz. was changed The contribution of immigrants from Romania and Bulgaria in 1920-1938 to the local population formed by Ashkinoz farm workers and the population that came in recent years with internal and external migration (Bulgaria, Germany, Kars, Artvin, etc.) ensured that the structure ethnic group to take its current form.

The first settlement in the central region was formed in Koichi neighborhood. The Çingene area, which still has the most intense features of the settlement, is one of the main areas of the first settlement where Gypsies still live in this area. The immigrant district, located in the northern part of the center district, where the Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants who came to this area between 1920-1938, is the oldest settlement area.

The whole Esenyurt settlement is located in the sub-region of Thrace in the Marmara region, within the metropolitan area of ​​Istanbul. There is Küçükçekmece lake to the east of this area, Büyükçekmece to the west, Hoşdere village and TEM highway to the north, Firizköy and E-5 highway to the south. There are 13 health centers, 1 government hospital, 1 Kizilay hospital in the area. In the 1,000,000 square meters of the city park, the security of this area was transferred to the police force on June 1, 2009. The building of the command of the police force has been prepared. The area of ​​Esen Yurt is 27.70 hectares and it became a municipality in 1989. With the establishment of the municipal organization, the service attack in the region began.

Geographic features of the Esenyurt region

Esen Yurt is a region with an area of ​​27.70 square kilometers and has 20 neighborhoods. According to the latest census, this district has a population of about 450,000 people. Esenyurt region is bordered by Avcilar and Küçükçekmece from the east, Büyükçekmece from the west, Başakşehir, Arnavutköy and TEM from the north. And it is bordered by Beylikdüzü and freeway (E5) from the south.

Access to the Esenyurt area

The two major highways of Istanbul, E-5 and E-80, pass through the northern and southern sides of Esenyurt and are two important roads leading to this area. Access to the D100 and TEM highways and their related roads facilitate commuting from this area to all parts of the city. Metrobus, which is one of the most important and fastest means of transportation in Istanbul, crosses the E-5 highway and connects this area quickly and smoothly to other areas as well as the Asian side of Istanbul. The subway construction project in this area is also supposed to be completed by the end of 2022.
